300 Words to become conversational

We all know that to get by in a different country, all you need to know are the English and the basic words of the local spoken language? The thing is: this is true for just about any country! Most languages focus on a core set of about 200 to 300 words, less than 10% of common vocabulary, for all the languages, no exception.

Take Spanish for example, 10% of common vocabulary basic words, with the basic sentence structure (10%  grammar), which should take you only about two weeks. Where English grammar is very difficult, Spanish grammar is actually very easy. English grammar has hundreds of strange, arbitrary rules, but Spanish grammar is very linear and very rarely strays from its basics. So don't sweat learning Spanish grammar!

Like all things in life, the rich and powerful practice the 10/90 rule and keeps the 90% of the wealth. What is stopping you from investing 10% effort to rip the 90% of the benefit? Once you know the basic words and the sentence structure, you are ready to to assume the top role in your company for any international affair. Just think about this: there are about 200 or 300 basic Spanish words that are separating you from knowing very little to being conversational in Spanish.
